Time Flies…

Time flies, or so they say. As of late, I feel more like time is running too fast, things are passing me by, I only see them in the rear view mirror, and… maybe… just maybe… I’m running out of time. It reminds me of Bilbo Baggins and feeling thin, disappearing, although I do not think it is related to a ring of power or Mordor.

I started this post on 23 August 2024 after attending a couple concerts: Megadeth, Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie. I still feel like I could be a rock star, like I still have time to do all kinds of things, but, and that’s the real question - the but - what is stopping me? Am I stopping myself?

That said, it is now still early in 2025, I did attend another writing conference, StorymakersKC near Kansas City on the Kansas side of the border in Olathe. It was nice to get out my front door, overcome some anxiety, see some old friends, and make new friends.

Did I have a dream, or did the dream have me?

And now, on 29 March 2025, I’m just getting back to this blog post. My life has become like the sands in an hourglass, like the sands of time, running out, and I’m doing everything in my power to turn that hourglass over and get some of that sand to run back, to go back in time, to change things.

It’s not really working…

For those of you wondering about Adventurers Wanted—I am too—the latest update is the new novel and new novella are both going through the editing process at Shadow Mountain. I plan to follow up on 1 April, find out the status, and will report back here. These two works, the novella and novel, take place prior to the current Alex Taylor series, but connect the past to the present.

That said, I’m also working on the next Alex Taylor book. It takes place a few years after The Axe of Sundering and will reunite Alex with some of the characters and loose ends from The Horn of Moran story.

So, I hope everyone is doing well. Here in Utah, we are going through the usual four seasons in a day that accompany the beginning of Spring: the crocus, daffodils, and tulips are appearing, buds on trees, and a weekly snow storm.

Until next time.
